Singletary considered for jobs of Assistant with Panthers, Vikings

In the mix to replace Smith in Carolina's is Mike Singletary said another source to the Minnesota Vikings are also addressed to the former 49ers coach for their linebackers coach vacancy.


Singletary, a Hall of Fame, linebacker played with the Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and Panthers coach Ron Rivera, and both the first NFL coaches would like his former teammate of Chicago Bears to join its staff.


Singletary trained on Baltimore Ravens linebacker in 2003 and 2004, before going to the San Francisco 49ers as an assistant coach. He became acting of the 49ers coach in 2008 when he was fired Mike Nolan, then, he received full-time job after finishing a 5-4 to the season.


The 49ers Singletary was 8-8 in 2009, then plunged to 5-10 this past season when the coach was dismissed.
