Johnson, long in the Pro Bowl; replace Welker, light Suh also out

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker and Matt Licht chose the Pro Bowl offensive tackle was announced Wednesday.

Welker and light will replace offensive tackle Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, who have likely to have arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle, and Miami Dolphins Jake long, who was disrupted by shoulders and knees problems for most of the season.

Welker was 86 catches for 848 yards in 16 games of this season after returning from a knee injury suffered regular season finale in 2009. Light, a 10-year veteran, was elected for the third time to the AFC team.

To play a NFL high eight Patriots in Jan. 30 game in Honolulu, including quarterback Tom Brady, to guard Logan Mankins, tackle Vince Wilfork, linebacker Jerod Mayo, nose selected rookie cornerback Devin McCourty and safety Brandon Meriweather.

Also in Jan. 30 game Detroit Lions rookie is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh who will have shoulder surgery Monday.

Lions general manager Martin Mayhew announced Suh's operation late Wednesday afternoon. Mayhew wouldn't say doctors would operate on the shoulder.

Suh led all rookies this season with 10 sacks, said he is in operation to ensure that he is "100 percent healthy" entering the Lions' off-season program. He said he still plans invited the Pro Bowl.
